I went to college not far from Moore, Oklahoma. Then I sent to medical school in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, which is even closer to Moore. As you can imagine, the emails have been sailing back and forth to elicit a roll call of our college alumni group and also to tell our surviving Okies that our prayers are with them.
In the midst of these exchanges, one of the alumni sent around an email that made us all stop and smile. In her email she noted that when the song Oklahoma was written, the composers probably did not have these tornados in mind when they wrote, "where the wind comes sweepin' down the plain."
Yes. Once again we call to mind that laughter is quite the best medicine.
Laughter is definitey, definitely, definitely the best medicine.
