The adult brain is not set in stone like so many of us physicians were taught. Enter the new science of neuroplasticity. Sad to say, the doctors and therapists that I encountered after my head bleed in January of 2011 were also in the dark. We all assumed that my flaccid, paralyzed left side would more or less stay the same.
